Cultivating business relationships

Last week, Copenhagen was the host of one of the greatest shipping events in Europe when Befragterklubben (Shipbrokers’ club) had its triennial dinner party, attracting about 1,600 representatives from many different parts of the shipping industry and from all over the world to the Danish capital.

In the days leading up to Befragterklubben’s great dinner party on Friday, Lauritzen Bulkers took the opportunity to meet with many of the clients and business partners who had travelled to Copenhagen to attend the event. This culminated in the sit-down dinner for 120 people at the MS America restaurant at the Copenhagen waterfront on Thursday evening.

Maintaining strong relations with clients and business partners that build on trust, mutual respect and accountability has always been a top priority for us as it is in line with our values and supports our business strategy,” says Claus Stahl, Senior Vice President, Chartering, Lauritzen Bulkers adding “Therefore it is natural that we use this opportunity to meet with members of our global value chain and cultivate our relationships further during this dinner.”

In his dinner speech, Peter Borup, President, Lauritzen Bulkers touched upon the importance of strong business relations in today’s challenging market “Our markets are going through a period of brutal adjustments. We are well aware that it is in times like these that partnerships are put to the test. We are grateful that we have such strong friendships with clients and suppliers alike, and I am confident that we will come through this together – with even stronger relations
