Growing support to Trident Alliance

Dec 12 2014

Just a few weeks away from the sea-change in the regulatory landscape for shipping, i.e. launch of the 0.1% sulphur limits in ECA zones on 1 January 2015, the Trident Alliance conducted its first Annual Meeting in Copenhagen on 3 December 2014.

Recently, fourteen more shipping companies have joined Trident Alliance, the shipping industry initiative for robust enforcement of maritime sulphur regulations.

More than 30 shipping companies are currently member of the alliance, of which J. Lauritzen is a founding member with more on their way to join.

"I am pleased to note that so many shipping companies want to ensure that the new regulations are implemented in a way that will ensure not only the expected environmental benefits but also a level playing field and thus fair competition", says Jan Kastrup-Nielsen, President & CEO, J. Lauritzen.
